We are a 99.9% sustainable company

We do everything we can to be as sustainable as possible within our company. For example, we use almost no plastic and eco-friendly material. The production of new clothes is one of the main sources of pollution in the world.

Because F*ck Fast Fashion

Nowadays a lot of attention is paid to fast fashion and everything related to it. But what exactly is fast fashion? You see the term fast fashion passing by more and more. Fast Fashion is literally translated; fast fashion. Companies are doing everything they can to respond to current trends as quickly as possible. And by ''do everything we can'' we really mean everything. They use factories in countries such as Bangladesh, India or Pakistan with employees who have to live under terrible working conditions. More often they are heavily underpaid (about € 0.20 per hour) and the employees have a hard time living with this salary. The factories are almost always unsafe and unhygienic. Like the factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where more than 200 people died. Even children are used to keep the clothing as cheap as possible so that these companies can make higher margins.

The employees in these horrible factories work an average of 13 hours a day for 6 days. They make clothes that people wear in the Netherlands, it concerns well-known big brands. They then earn around €46 per month. Which is far below the limit for a healthy and livable life. Keep in mind if your new clothes say "Made in Bangladesh, India or Pakistan" that this story is probably behind your clothes. Something that we as a company strongly oppose.

''Clothes that are too cheap to be true, often are''

As soon as the clothing is finished it is sold as quickly as possible at low prices. Clothing that is not sold is offered at high discounts in sales. In this way, these companies can make even more profit and keep labor costs low. Clothes that are not sold are put on large funeral pyres such as in Chile the size of about 11 football fields. The emission of this releases a lot of chemical waste that not only damages the surrounding area, but also our world.

Because fast fashion isn't the only reason why you should start wearing vintage clothing. The production and delivery process of new clothing has high CO2 emissions and costs a lot of water. By wearing vintage clothing you are aware of what you are wearing.

But why exactly vintage clothing?

It's not too late to become aware of what you're wearing. There is already worn clothing; Vintage Clothing. These clothes have already been produced and/or worn. By switching to vintage clothing you don't contribute to fast fashion again. This makes you even more aware of what you wear and thereby also contributes to the environment.

Did you know?

  • That it takes almost 10,000 liters of water to produce a new cotton t-shirt?
  • That an average of 85 million trees are cut down every year to make fabric for our clothes?
  • Each ton of second-hand clothing sold saves 11 tons of CO2.

Do you already wear vintage? Congratulations! You have already contributed to a better and more sustainable world.
